The Unix behind them is AIX, though.  

My saddest ever time in a bank (Barclays as well) was when I went in for a
preliminary mortgage hearing and explained the text in an error dialogue box
to the personal ?anker.  

It said something quite useful like "Printer <NAME> out of paper." 
"What should I do?" asked the clerk.  
"Put some paper in the printer?" I suggested.  
"Oh, yes.  That might work" he replied.

It did work.
